Holly Leaf Cherry, 'Prunus ilicifolia'

I was taking a walk in my neighborhood…. Yes, I was walking with my dog Lucy,… and I saw this tree/bush and I thought it was so pretty with the green leaves and small cherry/cranberry looking fruit. Of course I had to use plant ID and figure out what it is. Turns out it is a Prunus ilicifolia or Holly-leaved cherry which only furthered my curiosity to see if there was a homeopathic remedy associated with it. Yep, you guessed it, there is.

Prunus ilicifolia is mainly known for helping with nerves and heart symptoms, here are a few details that you may find interesting:

It's a go-to for heart problems. If you're feeling a weird pressure in your chest, or your heart's doing a little dance when it shouldn't be. High blood pressure? This maybe the remedy for you.

There's also a connection to the nervous system . If you're the type who's on edge, super anxious, or just can't seem to chill out, this effects our stress levels (sympathetic/parasympathetic nervous system). When we are stressed out our heart rate and blood pressure can be affected if we are chronically in “GO” mode.

Not so surprisingly Prunus ilicifolia is also indicated when you stomach is upset, often from nervousness.

It is also be considered when there is a cough that is dry and it gets worse when you try to take a deep breath.

Do you see a theme here? I do!! This is a wonderful remedy for the chronically stressed individual. Because of the constant stress and anxiety this person has blood pressure issues, hear palpitations, upset tummy and a chest tightness which all can be traced back to how a person is managing their stress.

The beauty of homeopathy is that it's super personalized. Homeopath’s don't just look at one symptom and say, "Take this." We look at everything that's going on with you and then decide. It's like getting a tailor-made suit, but for your health.

Enjoy your days~ Je
